Step 4: Attend Preseason Training

Preseason Training, which includes music auditions and marching evaluations, takes place ten days before the start of classes in the fall semester. Here’s who should report to Preseason Training:

Visual Teams (Color Guard and Majorettes)

All those who passed the audition in April need to attend Preseason Training. There is no August audition for Visual Teams. Attending Preseason Training is a requirement for those selected for our Visual Teams.

Brass and Woodwinds

All potential brass and woodwind students need to attend Preseason Training. There is no other time to audition for the Marching Chiefs.

Percussion

All those who passed the prescreening will be invited to attend Preseason Training. You will complete the audition process at Preseason Training. Only those passing the prescreening should attend Preseason Training.

Additional Information

All those attending Preseason Training will be allowed early access to your on-campus housing (if you are living on campus). Learn more about housing and other important preseason Training information by clicking the button below.

FSU's Great Give is finally here! You can make an impact by supporting both the Marching Chiefs (Chiefs United) and Summer Music Camps (Music to Weather the Storm)!
